We're finally going to tap the lake and create some underground farm plots. You've seen the calculations in an earlier episode ((depth * lake area / farm plot area) /2), now we've just got to tap the lake and let the waters flow. This has to be done in an organized fashion so as to not flood your entire fortress.

In this video we'll also cover: trading, whether or not to making merchant requests (at this stage: no, but we can think about what we might need in the future), we'll choose a broker & a book-keeper. At this stage don't worry about the merchant taking too much from you... you are building up a relationship with the merchants, he'll want a huge cut in the beginning.

I'll try to go into to more in-depth in a future episode, but your trades with the Dwarf merchant is linked to the number of migrants to you Fortress, so paying the merchant a little more SHOULD lead to bigger waves of merchants.
