I am having a surprisingly good time with dwm. I was expecting and prepped for a much more difficult time. However, all in all it has been a great experience and the performance difference is outstanding. I didn't expect there to be a truly noticable difference in speed between the two. If your looking for something to tinker with and improve your PC's speed than you need to check out dwm!
