Dying Light 2 Part 38. Jack of all trades. (Normal New Game Blind)
Part Synopsis: Manfred believes he's tapped into a foreign radio frequency. He regrets being interrupted by infected, asking Aiden to clear out the roof where the antennas are. Once done, Manfred regroups and fixes the unit. It's revealed to be a PK frequency, not a Chinese one. Jack Matt answers, still raging at Aiden in the process. But impressed by Manfred's skill, he offers him a possible position in the PKs.
Manfred gifts some supplies as thanks. Pete, who is hard of hearing, has been tasked with rescuing a hostage from a Renegade camp. Aiden clears out the lot present there, finding a woman Henrietta who's saved. Meeting with Pete, he realizes the area wasn't the same place his instructions told him to eradicate. Henrietta expresses gratitude, to which Aiden gives Pete the credit; which he in turn appreciates a lot.
An old historian quizzes Aiden with some questions, which he gets the first wrong and has to come back later. At the Fish Eye, no one has seen Lawan. In her abode, Aiden finds a note saying to give her some space, which he respects. He finds a radio with someone pleading for help. After finding their eventual location, it's learned the call is on endless repeat and the person passed ages ago.
Playthrough Information: Having replayed Dying Light 1 not blind as requested by a viewer who I disclosed with prior I had already done the main game and Following DLC, I'm pleased to report Dying Light 2 will in comparison be fully new to me. I am playing on Normal difficulty. As with other open world titles on the channel, my intent is to cover the story-based quests and side-quests. Collectibles, challenges, general exploration and random searching I don't plan on including. I feel these activities aren't worth featuring due to them inflating the series length and not being vitally important. Future DLC will be judged on an individual basis, depending on the mechanics featured. Gameplay shown on PS5. Every video will feature commentary and webcam usage.
About Game: Dying Light 2: Stay Human is a 2022 action role-playing game developed and published by Techland. The sequel to Dying Light (2015), the game was released on February 4, 2022, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. A Nintendo Switch version for the cloud is in development. The game received generally favorable reviews, with praise directed at the combat, parkour system, and open world, but criticism for the story. It sold 5 million units in its first month of release.
Setting: The 2014 zombie outbreak in Harran (depicted in Dying Light) ended with the death of all of the city's citizens, with no reported survivors. The Global Relief Effort (GRE) is able to develop a vaccine for the Harran Virus, ending the threat of the zombie pandemic. Despite promises to cease all research on the virus, the GRE continued experimenting on it in secret for military purposes. In 2021, a mutated variant of the virus named Tachytransmissive Harran Virus (THV) escapes a GRE lab and starts a second pandemic that spreads faster than the first, sweeping across the world in an event called "The Fall". The vaccine and Antizin are ineffective against the new strain of THV, but its effects can be suppressed with ultraviolet light.
By 2036, fifteen years after the Fall, much of the world's population has been wiped out, human civilization has been reduced to a handful of scattered settlements, with the fictional walled European city of Villedor being one of the largest. Originally quarantined by the GRE, Villedor was spared the worst of the pandemic thanks to its quarantine walls keeping the hordes of infected out of the city. Control of the city is split between several factions, including the militaristic Peacekeepers, the independent Survivors, and the violent Renegades.
The main protagonist Aiden Caldwell is a Pilgrim, an individual brave enough to make the dangerous trek between human settlements. He decides to travel to Villedor in order to search for his lost sister, Mia.
