Check out part 11 of my Xclusive Bro-Op Gaming series featuring the game Dying Light 2! This game released on the Xbox One and Xbox Series family of consoles on February 4th, 2022. It was developed and published by Techland.

In this video, Aiden continues exploring the city of Villedor & speaks to a man named Stavros about his collection of fish.

Dying Light 2 is the sequel to the critically acclaimed first-person action role-playing, survival-horror game which comes with a completely new location, main protagonist and story. This game is also set in an open-world environment and it takes place 20 years after the first game within a new fictional city known as Villedor. The player takes on the role of a new protagonist named Aiden Caldwell who travels into Villedor to find his long-lost sister Mia. The two siblings have a mysterious and dark past as they were supposedly involved in some strange experiments that revolved around the undead. Aiden's main goal is to find his sister and maybe even learn more about the powerful man that was behind these terrible experiments. Along the way, Aiden meets and interacts with the various factions that are vying for control over Villedor and has to ultimately choose who he wishes to support in that endeavor. Ultimately though, it's up to Aiden to find his missing sister, learn more about his past and determine the fate of Villedor and its people.

Just like the first game, Dying Light 2 places a huge focus on the parkour elements and really enhances them even more than ever before. This game takes everything that was great about its predecessor and makes it even better: the melee combat, the fluid movement, the emphasis on danger thanks to the constant zombie threat (especially at night), the freedom of exploration and the great feeling of progressing from a person trying to survive during the zombie apocalypse to becoming a lean, mean zombie killing machine. Also, like the first game, the player is constantly kept on their toes due to the sheer number of zombies that are always in the player's vicinity (along with a few special zombie classes that increase the difficulty significantly at any given moment). This really plays into the survival-horror elements of the game and adds to the adrenaline-inducing gameplay. The nighttime is even crazier than the 1st game as there are way more zombies that come out at night (which is in part thanks to some of the power that comes with the more modern consoles). Dying Light 2 also brings back the RPG elements that you find in other games such as leveling up and even adds a crafting system which can be used to upgrade Aiden's weapons.

Just like the 1st game, Dying Light 2 is played through a first-person perspective and the traversal feels even more amazing than the 1st as it adds new kinds of parkour moves along with some additional tools (such as the grappling hook seen in the 1st game) that will really help with getting around the city faster and more fluidly. And, of course, this wouldn't be a Dying Light game if it didn't include co-op. This game is also fully playable in co-op with up to three other players.

Finally, with regards to the achievements in this game: Dying Light 2 includes a total of 57 achievements for a total of 1000 GS. Just like its predecessor, the achievements are quite varied and include some story based achievements while the others revolve around: exploration, combat, collectibles, crafting and character progression. The developers recently revealed that the game can take up to 50 hours to complete if you just focus on the main story, around 80-90 hours if you complete both the main story and the side quests and even more if you're a completionist.
