Dynasty Warriors 2 (2024) - Xiahou Dun #3: Battle of Guandu
0If I were to be honest, this was my very first time trying out DW2's Guandu so I came in blind, which explains why my performance in this one was not as good as the last two stages as Xiahou Dun. Me not finding the Dim Sum was another factor.
Anyway, we are back in Dynasty Warriors 2, continuing Xiahou Dun's story from where we left off. As I mentioned before, the 3rd stage is where the Kindgoms branch out. In Wei's case, Guandu is the next one.
Since Xiahou Dun starts at the middle, it's best if you take care of the enemies around you first before you start rescuing your allies from both sides. For starters, Guan Yu, despite his reputation, actually struggles a lot in the North due to Yan Liang and Wen Chou. Sure, Yan Liang may not be strong, but his morale is ridiculously high so he's more likely to be the biggest problem in the North side. Wen Chou is another problem so it's best if you take care of them both immediately. Once you do that, the doors to Wu Chao will open.
Cao Cao is no better since he, too, is also left with some problems due to some of Yuan Shao's soldiers having high morale, including Yuan Shang . However, he has a lot of sub-officers so he fares a bit better compared to Guan Yu, but not by much so you also need to deal with them once Yuan Shao decides to charge ahead.
However, the moment you take Wu Chao, by defeating Chunyu Qiong, is where everything changes. With Wu Chao taken, Yuan Shao's morale will drop potently to the point he will retreat.
