For this video, I intended to show the differences from playing Bo Wan Po before Chang Ban, and Chi Bi without having played either.

Doing Bo Wan Po first has a pretty massive affect on Cao Cao in Chang Ban. Normally, he spawns with 3 sub-officers and a sizeable number of troops. But if defeated at Bo Wan Po first, then he'll have no sub-officers and considerably reduced troops, which makes it easier for Liu Bei to get away from him...technically, it doesn't really make a noticeable difference. Liu Bei's AI in Chang Ban is actually pretty smart and is able to ignore enemy troops entirely up until reaching one of the gate guards blocking him from reaching the river. And when one of the gates is open, even if it's on the other side of him, he'll immediately rush to go through the open gate.

Oh and in Bo Wan Po, there's a cutscene if the fire attack succeeds and Zhuge Liang and Cao Cao reach one another. Fairly easy to see if playing as one of them, may require some luring otherwise.

From skipping Bo Wan Po and Chang Ban, Chi Bi will have less Shu troops guarding the altar for the wind ceremony and Cao Cao's troops will get an overall morale gain when they receive supplies from Bo Wan Po. Also, Zhuge Liang has an extra dialogue line when playing as him, telling the player to go back to the altar when the wind is ready.
