A few fights as we make our way forward, then get treated to yet another cutscene. After the cutscene...

Virgil dies. Well, gets killed by KOS-MOS is more like. And right before a boss fight too! She couldn't have at least waited until afterwards? Tch... But seriously, I wish Virgil had stuck around longer. He's an interesting character with a twisted personality, but does have some good nature to him buried underneath it. You can see it if you pay attention to the cutscenes, how he warns his men when they're in danger, mourns their deaths, and straight up jumps between Shion and a Gnosis when he see one coming up on her from behind. Xenosaga actually has an anime, though it only covers the first game (and cut/speeds through a whooole bunch of stuff) and in that, Virgil actually does survive up until about the halfway point, which was pretty cool.

Anyways, now that we're down a party member, it's time for a boss fight!

Boss #3: Minotaur - This big whale looking thing comes to the fight with two adds called Skyfish. They aren't much of a threat, but they're weaker, so it's better to deal with them first. Minotaur itself likes to use party-wide attacks, but doesn't hit too hard. When its at about half HP, it'll start using Boosts when taking damage to gather energy, then release a stronger party-wide attack on its next turn. But it still isn't too strong. You can probably just tank through all the attacks without even healing, if you put Shion in her AGWS and haven't used it up to this point. Her damage output outside of her AGWS will be abysmal, so she's better off in there. KOS-MOS can use items to heal herself if she really needs it.

After that, its aaaaaaaall cutscenes. The next few will introduce us to the Elsa and its crew, which a fun bunch that stick around for the entire rest of the series. Also introduces us to chaos (deliberately spelled with a lowercase c for some reason). He's a party member, but more on him when he's actually in the party.

Following that, we'll switch perspectives to a new character, Ziggurat 8. The cutscenes from 45:28 onward will set the scene for the upcoming part playing as him.
