That's right, the original Dynasty Warriors on the PS1 was a one-on-one 3D fighting game. I don't know how to do the super moves in this game, but I figured it out only through mashing buttons for those few times I manage to pull one off.

Dynasty Warriors is a solid 3D fighting game. In fact, it plays really well. I wouldn't put it on the same level as Tekken 3, Rival Schools, or Soul Blade, but it's close. It plays very well, and has a good amount of depth to it's moves, and play-style. This is definitely one of the better 3D fighters on the PS1. Now, I am very glad that Dynasty Warriors 2 transformed the series into what we all think of when we hear Dynasy Warriors, but the original is still a good 3D fighting game in it's own right.

Fighting the A.I. can be just as cheap and frustrating as the rest of the 3D fighters in this era (I only struggled defeating two characters, but edited out my continues), and there are even some strange visual glitches when playing it on a modern TV that you wouldn't notice on a CRT. Overall, if you are looking for another good 3D fighter on the PS1 to try out, and come across this game somewhere, it's worth buying.
