If you know the name Dynasty Warriors, chances are you know it for being a series of hack 'n slash games based on Romance of the Three Kingdoms. But did you know that the original Dynasty Warriors was a 1-on-1 fighting game? This is why in Japan, the later Dynasty Warriors games are known as "Shin Sangokumusou", whereas the Original Dynasty Warriors is simply known as "Sangokumusou" and Koei Tecmo doesn't consider it to be part of the series. But since the English localization kept the Dynasty Warriors name for the later games, the numbering in English is one ahead of the Japanese numbering.
Anyhow, here's a playthrough of the game as the one-eyed warrior, Xiahou Dun of the Wei faction. From what I've heard, the real Xiahou Dun was poor at combat, but media tends to portray him as a fearsome warrior. Just a warning, his ending contains something that is quite grotesque.
