Dyson Sphere Program - Zen Passive, 002 - Basic Mall
Short voice at the start.
We quickly check out our seed in Sandbox mode before reloading our saved game. At 1x resources - wowee! It's a big difference from the old Excursions seed (which only had about 800k silicon at 1x resources - that seed was a tough one).
Some overall tidying. First we shift our research mall over a touch so that we can put a box on a splitter to buffer blue science cubes. An energetic graphite build, load up combustible units to fuel Icarus. Quick bootstrap to make belts.
Smelting lines, assembly lines, and finally our first mall. You'll notice that it's an oddball one - a tiny "one building blueprint" which grabs everything from every belt, and we set whatever recipe we want. It's very quick and we can make (and change) the recipe order however we want it. Later we can go back and clear out the unused sorters (if we want to, we may want to leave them so that it's easy to change).
Most games we want to make belts and sorters first, however we already have a bootstrap for belts and we have enough sorters in our inventory. Instead we make buildings in general order of research:
Wind turbine
Tesla tower
Miner
Smelter
Box
Assembler
Matrix lab
Belt Mk I
Sorter Mk II (x2, we combined two blueprints for later convenience)
Oil extracter
Oil refinery
We do it in this order because we *always* need these things - and generally in this order. At this stage the belts/sorters can wait a little, so they won't be hogging all the resources flowing into the mall. A little bit of everything else gets made first. In our case, we were picking up stuff as it was being made to help complete the mall.
Once we stopped and saved, we are at the point where:
* Our mall is filling nicely
* Almost all blue science has been researched
* We can rip down the original bootstrap stuff and feed our blue science properly
* We have the oil extractor/s we need to start red science
We are in a good position for our next stage: Red Science and Planetary Logistics. Though we will need to spam down a bunch of wind turbines to power everything properly.
