So here's the subject, specifically for new players: Never Worry About Ratios.

Since people seem to have trouble making Electric Motors, Electromagnetic Turbines, and Super-Magnetic Rings: I show how the game itself tells you what exactly is needed for a build. It tells you straight in the description of the item and the description of every sub-item that is required.

In a nutshell:
If something is built in an assembler, and it takes 3 seconds to build, then 3 assemblers will make one of that item each second.
The sub-items required to make that item (iron, gears, circuit boards, magnetic coils), that's how many of those are required per second.
Follow down the chain for the more complicated items that are needed.

It's easy, it's lazy, it's the Zen way of playing. It may even be a little boring. It does show how we can be in control as we progress through the game.

Basically: Don't get overwhelmed by the seeming complexity of the game. There's no need to worry. The game itself holds our hand on every step that we take - we just need to pay a little attention to what it tells us about each item.
