This tiny 1*1*2 clock has seriously compacted several of my projects while building my adventure map. It summons a block with a custom despawn time onto a pressure plate, giving a very specific output pulse from 1 second to 5 minutes and everything inbetween down to a tenth of a second. it can also easily be converted into a clock.

Here's the command I used. Change the value of Age between 0 (5 mins) and 5999 (1 tick):

summon Item ~ ~1 ~ {Item:{id:2,Count:1,Damage:0},Age:5950}
