E2M6 rocket glide, written tutorial in desc
53 HP required for the glide minimum (only damage values are 52 or 84 because only 2 angles work with low armour) more is helpful to avoid dying by slime damage
- if you don't have the HP to get across the slime, you can grab the berserk pack from the void
looking at the berserk pack head-on, look to the right corner, and head into it
turn to face byte angle 197 (4:3 left of the screen should show a light grey vertical line, then a taller dark grey line, and then another light grey line of the same height as the dark grey one)
usually, you will have to shuffle your position to get the trick to work, so just move doomguy away from the wall and back again but keeping the same angle
hold down the walk key or disable autorun
hold down A and rapidly tap S until doomguy starts to wobble (building momentum)
stop holding any movement keys (if you have extra momentum built up, you can hold the old movement keys for a small amount of time before doomguy breaks out from the wobble)
turn right to face byte angle 151 (4:3 left of the screen should show the very edge the furthest brown pillar)
- byte angle 151 is the most optimal, whilst you lose a small amount of time, you take significantly less damage and you have less extra momentum in the void
- byte angle 150 also works, it is faster by ~0.4s as you can get more momentum from the rocket but deals more damage to the player which could be fatal in longer runs
hold S + D to start gaining momentum towards the corner (similar to walless)
- wait roughly 0.7-1s and fire the rocket launcher
you should fly through the wall and propel to outside of the red section of the map, just look to the left and traverse around the slime tunnel to get to the exit switch
a good time in an episode run should be 18 seconds or less, for IL, look for 16 seconds or less (all categories)
