E3 13: Dead Rising 3 - Interview
We caught up with Dead Rising 3's executive producer, Josh Bridge, at E3, and over a drink he painted a picture of what will be possible in the latest zombie epic from Capcom.
There's a definite shift in Dead Rising 3, and Bridge explained to us how and why Capcom are making changes to the formula already established in the previous games in the series: "Zombies are the enemy, that was a big shift, versus time, because investing in that - zombie being the enemy - and investing in their AI and how the gameplay works, we wanted to put across a more gritty, serious tone so there actually was a connection to "oh, they are actually a threat!""
"But comedy is still there if you want," he reassured us. "If you want to create crazy combo weapons, or dress mad, it's all there. And I hope the contrast is even more hilarious for you, as opposed to us trying to make it funny up front."
"The time element going is actually important to us because we want to invest in a bigger world that you actually wanted to explore in sandbox, but that density is still there. You can still climb up stuff, go into houses and steal panties, if that's your thing."
Dead Rising 3 is set to launch at the tail-end of this year, and it's going to be an Xbox One exclusive.
