E3 13: Deus Ex: The Fall - Jean-François Dugas Interview
Executive game director Jean-François Dugas had some explaining to do about his choice of attire at this year's E3, but he also managed to get a word or two in about Deus Ex: The Fall and the Director's Cut of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. He commented on the reactions on the announcement of Deus Ex: The Fall:
"Fans they were shocked in the sense that they were waiting for the next big instalment in the franchise and now when they see it's mobile they're "oh, what the hell is that? and that kind of... People who play on mobile they were so excited. People who played Human Revolution on console they were in shock and everything."
Stopping short of guaranteeing a next-gen Deus Ex, Dugas felt reinvigorated by the new consoles.
"A new console war. It's exciting. I think we've been for a longtime with the same consoles and at some point... we got all the juice out of the console and everything. And I felt that there was in the industry some kind of... it got tired a bit. And now with those announcements and everything now people are expressing themselves and there is renewed interest in console games."
