18E3 was once the time of year when all gamers came together and celebrated the latest announcements from their favorite video game companies. Whether you were a Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, or perhaps even Sega fan, this was the week you looked forward! And yet, in the year 2020, E3 has faded into obscurity...
20 years earlier another medium existed which has also disappeared in modern times: the book, or more specifically, the strategy guide. What was once a mighty tool used by gamers to find those impossibly hidden secrets that would otherwise require countless hours of searching was made obsolete overnight with the creation of websites such as GameFAQs.
This video examines what happened when those two now obsolete mediums crossed, as we take a look at strategy guides created by Prima that told one how to beat E3 2000 & 2001 and were distributed to those who attended the event.
