36Previously on the channel, I've covered a few unlicensed titles, whether they were games that have been released in the last 10 years, or games from Accolade that were released during the console's original lifespan, and were really only unlicensed because Sega and Accolade couldn't see eye to eye on costs. Today though, I'm covering a game that probably would not have been able to have been released today, due to the questionable legality of the code behind it.
Earth Defense is the last game released by publisher Realtec and developer AV Artisan, coming out in 1995, towards the tail end of the Genesis original lifespan. So, with it coming out that late, surely it's well optimized and utilizes the full horsepower of the console, right? Welllll....not quite. Take a look and see!
