Earthbound is a Swedish trance project led by Anders Eriksson. The project gained recognition in the late 1990s and early 2000s with tracks like "One Nation" and "Essence of Life." Earthbound's music is characterized by its melodic and uplifting sound, typical of the trance genre. Anders Eriksson, the creative force behind Earthbound, has been involved in the electronic music scene for many years, contributing to various projects and collaborations. Although Earthbound is not as active today, their music continues to be celebrated by fans of classic trance.
Earthbound was founded in 1994 by Anders Eriksson, Fredrik Johansson and Carl-Oskar Andreasson. After the first Hypocondric Lovesick EP in 1996, Andreasson left the group.
In 1997, Earthbound released a single titled “Heartbeat,” and early 1998 saw the release of the song “Everyone,” which became a radio hit in Sweden.
But it was 1999's “Essence of Life” that brought the real breakthrough. The track was remixed by Skynet UK and John “00” Fleming and was released in England by Eve Records.
Later in 1999, the release of “One Nation - Trance Nation” became Earthbound's biggest success. The single was followed by a two-disc album, also titled “Earthbound.” This album was also nominated for the Swedish Grammis in the “Best Modern Dance” category.
