Easiest Way to Render a Wireframe Turntable in Blender 3.4
After you've created an awesome 3D model you should show it off to the world to increase the chances of getting hired by an employer or client. This is where turntables come into play. This is basically a 360 view of your model where people can see your understanding of topology which is really important if you want to work in the video games industry.
Today we're going to create a very easy and simple wireframe effect in Blender 3.4 that shows off your topology and 3D model. There are many ways to go about this. This is however by far the best and most efficient way I've found to do so. I'll be using a model of Deep Thought from "The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy" movie by Douglas Adams.
You first create a turntable or really whatever animation you want using Cycles or Eevee render. You then disable literary everything in the scene except for the model with wireframes in solid view. Even the overlays.
In preferences you can change the color of the wireframe under 3D viewport. Instead of going to render view, we will actually use the solid view as render, just make sure RGBA is enabled under render settings. Finally under "view" in the top left is a setting called "Render Viewport Animation" which renders everything the viewport is currently seeing. This includes overlays, markers, meshes etc so make sure only your model is visible. It does render with the same resolution etc as your normal render.
With these two layers you can combine them in either Blender, DaVinci Resolve 17 or Premiere Pro CC to create a cool and professional turntable showcasing your awesome work. ๐
