Easily record vertical gameplay in OBS with this tool
16Prawn here with some tips on how to record vertical video really easily while you're gaming. This is a tool for OBS that can run alongside your usual 16:9 source and capture vertical video that you can use on TikTok, Instagram or YouTube. It's already formatted into the vertical format, so this streamlines editing so you can quickly upload your clips to multiple places.
This tool is called Aitrium

Download and install it on OBS and then go through the standard setup process. You need to add a game source and then adjust it so it fits in the frame. Then it records at 1080 x 1920 as standard. You can do other clever things like putting a video source in there as a reaction camera or just keep it clean for gameplay reasons.
I use this tool to create YouTube shorts on my gameplay channel @theprovokedprawnpews and it makes life easier.
The one downside, of course, is that it is already cropped. So if action is happening off screen then it's harder to edit. BUT you can set OBS so it records both the vertical clips and the standard ones at the same time. You can then just use the standard key combination to capture both clips and save them where you want. Easy.
