When you return to Mothers Cradle, you will likely find that the front gates are now locked. If you have tried following other guides where you walk across the bridge etc, it might not work, like it didnt for me. As you can see i came from across the bridge. Instead, find a strider. For some reason these allow you to bypass the invisible wall and obtain access to Mothers cradle when the gates are locked.

This will not give you access to the town, but it will let you collect the power core which is likely the only reason you want to access this place.

Also, make sure you have enough health when dropping down so you dont die like i did.
