Echochrome for PlayStation 3
Hello and welcome to another PlayStation 3 exclusive sneak peek. This time I take a look at a PSN title called Echochrome.
Echochrome has no real storyline as it is just a puzzle game. Your task is to simply shift the perspective and follow the echos by walking through them to complete each stage.
The graphics are very simple, black and white only, lines that make up the objects with nothing major ever taking place. But that's just it. The graphics are minor, but done in just a way that it looks cool. Personally, I like it.
The music in this game IMO is pretty good, with calm relaxing orchestrated music accompanying you throughout the game play experience. And for those out there that don't really like it, you can just fire up your own tunes using custom soundtracks.
The sound effects are minimal, but effective for this game. For the most part you hear footsteps, falling sounds and jumping sounds. Not much else. Typical for a puzzle game.
The controls are accurate but minimal. You don't get to control the Echochrome guy at all. You only have control over the movement of the map itself. The Echochrome guy walks forward all the time and turns to his left at any forks in the road. Just keep that in mind and the game becomes easier.
The neatest thing about Echochrome, is being able to Play, Create, and Share your own stages with your friends! You can make the easiest level out there if you want, or create the biggest, most difficult stage your mind can think of, all with a very simple interface that makes creating stages a snap.
Also once your done with the 56 Stages made by the developers of the game, you can try out over 1,000 stages made by the PS Community! The fun just never ends with Echochrome.
Bottom Line: Echochrome is a fantastic game that has a great game play experience and is fun for the whole family. I definitely recommend Echocrome to anyone who enjoys puzzle games and likes to use their brain. Echochrome is only $9.99 from the PSN.
This game is in 1080p native, has Dual Shock 3 Rumble support, Trophy support, Uncompressed 7.1 PCM Surround Sound quality (along with 5.1 DTS), and Custom Soundtracks support.
