Welcome back to PlayStation GameZown where we take a look into PlayStation 3s Multiplatform, and Exclusive games. Today I'll show you a small glimpse into the Multiplayer Beta that I played a little bit of in Dead Space 2 Online.

I will be honest and tell you I downloaded the beta near the beginning of October but never had the chance to play much more than about 2 hours of it, so I was not able to really get into it and therefore I cannot give a good review of the beta.

From what I gather you take turns being the Necromorphs and then the Humans. The Necromorphs, in which you can choose 3 different types, are out to kill the humans and stop them from taking some bomb pieces back to a main central point where the humans then blow up a door to move to the next section (or to escape the monsters...).

The 3 different types of Necromorphes are: a short range creature which uses its hands to whack the enemys and can jump across the room and land on the backs of its prey ripping their heads off. There is a small creature that can walk on all walls and ceilings and shoots poisonous needles from afar at its enemies to stun them. And there is the larger Necromorphes that can use both close range attacks with their hands or far away attacks.

It's a very basic feeling multiplayer beta that has some element of horror to it, but just feels dated for me at this point in time. Hopefully the full game will be a bit more in depth, and I will know more about what it has to offer as to upgrades in weapons and such. I will be getting Dead Space 2 for sure when it comes out though, mainly for it's single player experience. But I will enjoy this multiplayer online mode from time to time no doubt.
