Learn how to combine the Eclipse open source stack with open hardware like the RaspberryPi to quickly develop, deploy and manage end-to-end people counting systems. The session introduces the Eclipse technologies that enabled this project and describes how they were integrated into a complete solution. Eclipse Kura provided the Java/OSGi–based M2M application framework for the edge gateways interfacing with the people counters and offered application portability and remote management. Eclipse BIRT supplied the business intelligence, delivering high impact data visualizations and powerful analytics to correlate people counter data with social media metrics and sentiment.
