A full and complete Edgley EA-7 Optica Freeware Aircraft Add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) 2020 based on the original Craig Richardson FSX model but with extensive work, reproduction, modification, and upgrades from the legacy model - this is NOT just a port-over.
The Optica has its roots in the UK and its maiden flight was in 1979. It's a quirky aircraft and some say half aircraft and half helicopter. Police forces in the UK have adopted the aircraft for their operations and some are still in use today.
This model for Microsoft Flight Simulator brings the Optica into stunning detail in your sim and is a blast to fly.
With full support for VR (virtual reality) environments and setups along with a fully detailed cockpit which the developer has labeled extensively with tooltips and instructions for each switch and gauge - it becomes easier to adopt the aircraft and learn what's what.
It's a very easy aircraft to fly within the sim and makes much fun of virtual flights. It can be used anywhere across the globe but it is perfect for those back country, off-the-beaten-path flights with no IFR rulings, and for pure fun.
The add-on is fully supportive of the latest avionics and GPS systems available in Microsoft Flight Simulator such as the GTN 750 and Garmin GNS 430/330 nav systems which will make navigating around MSFS much easier and more realistic.
Also included in the latest updates are realistic snow, rain, dirt, water effects based on where the aircraft is landing. This makes for some stunning landings and low-level flights giving accuracy to detail of what you can expect in the real-word. After all, MSFS (2020) is screaming stunning graphics and alike - and this add-on/mod enables these features to make flights look (in terms of eye-candy) as realistic as possible.
Many users comment on the "dog". Yes, the developer Jonx has included a dog in the cockpit of the aircraft. This is an "upgrade" from Craig Richardson's model and we believe the dog to be a Labrador. There is also a toggle switch in the cockpit to disable/enable the dog.
The aircraft also features a winter kit (ski) option.
Installation is easy in MSFS with a simple drag/drop into your MSFS community folder type installation.
