The debate over whether or not Elden Ring and other Souls/SoulsBorne games need an easy mode is a debate that has been going on since the dawn of time (or at least 2009 when Demons' Souls came out). There are a lot of very valid perspectives to consider here that include marketing, accessibility, video game user experience and UI, and a whole bunch of other claims. To me though, its rather simple. They don't NEED it, but it definitely wouldn't hurt.
