You can get a Somber Smithing Stone [7] early in the Volcano Manor by lowering the bridge and jumping up onto the gears and then onto the ledge. This was quite an easy jump to until the recent Patch 1.04 - it is still possible as shown in the video however it may take quite a few attempts to get it.
