Crown Crates are a new addition to the ESO Crown Store that will give you a chance to obtain exclusive and unique pets, mounts, and more alongside useful consumable items.

This Thursday, we'll be introducing the first season of Crown Crates to the ESO Crown Store. Crown Crates are purchased through the Crown Store, and contain a randomized selection of useful consumables and collectibles that are valued more than the price of a single crate. In addition, they also offer a chance to obtain unique cosmetic items, pets, or mounts. Crown Crates include new and exclusive items, as well as some items you might have missed in previous limited time offers.

Whenever you purchase a Crown Crate, you will always be awarded four items, with the chance to get a fifth item. In the event you receive a mount, pet, costume or personality that you already own from your Crown Crate, you'll be awarded a new resource - Crown Gems - in its place. You will also have the option to convert several items obtained from Crown Crates to Crown Gems any time you want. Items that can be manually converted include potions, poisons, riding lessons, experience scrolls, and other utility-type items. Any Crown Gems you earn can then be used to purchase the collectible items of your choosing from the current Crown Crate season.

Each Crown Crate is associated with a special “Season" that will include uniquely themed items, and will be cycled quarterly. We're kicking off the first season of Crown Crates with the electrifying Storm Atronach theme. This Season will give you the chance to acquire the following themed items:

You can purchase a single Crown Crate for 400 crowns. We'll also offer Crown Crate bundles, where you can get four Crates for 1500 crowns, or 15 Crates for 5000 crowns.

The Elder Scrolls Online is a massively multiplayer online role-playing video game developed by ZeniMax Online Studios.[2][3] It was originally released on April 4, 2014, for Microsoft Windows and OS X.[4] It is a part of The Elder Scrolls fantasy franchise, of which it is the first open-ended multiplayer installment.

As with other games in The Elder Scrolls franchise, the game is set in the continent of Tamriel and features a storyline indirectly connected with the other games. The Elder Scrolls Online had been in development for seven years before its release in 2014. It initially received mixed reviews, but these improved significantly with the re-release and rebranding as The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited, with the majority of reviews praising the changes.

On January 21, 2015, it was announced that an active subscription would not be needed to play the game from March 17, 2015, onwards. The game was then renamed as The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited.[5][6] The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One console versions were released on June 9, 2015.[7]
