The ground is created when your (white neutral) ( grounded conductor(s) are bonded ( attached) to ( the green ground(s) ( equipment grounds) The ground's purpose is to get tied on to anything that can become energized or act as a conductor (like metal)
electrically speaking When something's bonded, are pretty much giving it a reliable reference back to the grounded conductor ( the neutral )
