I have been playing Elite Dangerous since the early Kickstarter days and indeed was one of those fortunate people to be in a position to pay £250+ for Alpha access and all sorts of bonuses. So why am I deleting my only Commander of some 5 years?

Because I'm bored, to be honest, I want to see what the New Player Experience feels like for, uh, new players.

So, even though I had 3 'free' Federal ships at Recruit rank, I am wiping the save. Next week Frontier will no doubt say - of course you can all have multiple Commanders!

Your first port of call after any starter ship, is the Cobra Mk III. Finding one is more difficult than you might think. Independent systems are what is needed! And then, a High Tech system for outfitting!
