Before overdosing on drugs in 2007, Eminem believed he had "a good thing going."

When discussing his difficulties with addiction, the rapper—who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday—asked his daughter Hailie Jade Mathers to cover her ears.

“I realize what an honor it is right now to be here up here tonight, and what a privilege it is to do the music that I love,” the “Lose Yourself” rapper started his acceptance speech with.

“Music basically saved my life … I’ll keep this as painless as possible. I’m f***ing stuttering and s***. I’m probably not supposed to actually be here tonight because of a couple of reasons.”

At the Los Angeles event in 2022, the "8 Mile" actor, 50, who was born Marshall Mathers, was formally inducted by his longtime partner Dr. Dre.

“I almost died from an overdose in 2007, which kind of sucked,” he proceeded before turning to his daughter, age 26, whom he shares with his ex-girlfriend Kim Scott.
