This preview build of Empathy: Path of Whispers opens with my inside a control room with a shinny red button. A voice advises me to push the button and, of course, I can't help but push it. But first, I learn to use the E-15P Scanner. By aligning the white and red wavelengths using the A, F, and W frequencies, I can unlock new memento phenomena -- items and memories from the past.
Upon pressing the red button, I'm teleported to a whole new environment: the inside of a house. But as soon as I walk through the attic door, there's no going back! Welcome to the abstract and surreal world. High above the clouds, a collection of buildings and railroad tracks. A city in the sky, perhaps? And in the distance, a massive god-like statues carries on it's back an entire park. Atlas Park to be exact.
Before heading to Atlas Park, I get used to the scanner device to search for more mementos including a hammer and a toolbox. I can then interact with the past to reconstruct a scene from the past. On an upper track, I find the train and a ticket platform. But it's on the platform where I find an elevator on the side of the cliff that leads up to Atlas Park.
Atlas Park itself is beautiful of and plentiful with flora. But remnants remain of a base camp or perhaps a survivor camp in the form of tents in the park square. Did some kind of disaster strike that sent people to the park for refuge? Prepare to relive the drama and search around the park and various buildings to locate mementos to uncover more of the story!

Empathy: Path of Whispers is a first-person, action adventure game with a strong focus on storytelling and exploration. Players will find themselves in a surreal world, made from people’s emotions and memories, which they can manipulate and explore. Those lost memories are the key to rebuilding the crumbling world back to its former state, discovering its mysterious past and halting the impending apocalypse. Through its innovative narrative mechanics the game will challenge the player to explore and gain an understanding of the weird world they are traveling through.
