I'd like to capture more interesting footage to perhaps talk over instead, but so far what I've been doing didn't seem to facilitate recording for long periods of time.
I didn't expect this conference to be what it was. I didn't know what to expect, I guess, besides that it would be work. But the work felt nothing like it, because I knew I was helping making people happy.
When I think about what made the conference so great, I think of the moving assembly itself and the moments like it (the cabaret evening, music between talks) as well as specific individuals that I had extremely meaningful conversations with. It was the two workshops that involved discussion of creating secular holidays, seasons and a "keeper" position. Bart Campolo's talks. Chatting with Cara and Hemant for a while.
Being asked to help with other things. Saying yes. I'm starting to feel a little more relevant when speaking to these amazing people leading communities. I'm not the odd person without anything to contribute. I'm doing a small part.
