I was right! In the previous episode, I said that maybe Grey Mother was just saying that the deposit box in the bank was related to finding Astrid because she just wants us to do her chores for her! Well I mean, it's not exactly right per se but all we did was collect a locket that belonged to her daughter who passed away. The story was a bit unclear here as I'm not sure how they explained that away but that's okay because I got a climbing rope from Grey Mother's stuff since her daughter was a climber. With big, thick, and heavy climbing rope in tow, we lug it over to a nice little scenic route and headed on over to the end of episode 1, where a hunter is getting destroyed by a bear and Mackenzie shoots it with the fallen rifle.

The game is pretty cool! The survivability aspects as well as the scavenging around are kind of fun, but the story still needs some getting used to. Though I'm sure we'll find out more in the next episode! Check out part 4 of my The Long Dark Gameplay!
