More beginner friendly than many of my videos, I want to cover what sorts of builds will consider using this item, why it is good, and add a little on how to source it.

Often considered a budget alternative to Headhunter, Zerphi's Heart is a powerful unique that allows you to gain the ridiculously strong Soul Eater buff at times of your choosing - and keep it for 20 seconds. It rewards tactical use of Vaal skills.

As of the Heist league there's only two ways to get Zerphi's Heart, and both require extreme luck.

The original acquisition mechanism - killing the Vaal Omnitect for the 'one in several thousand' chance at the Vial of Sacrifice, then using that to upgrade a much easier to source Sacrificial Heart (also drops from Omnitect) is only responsible for a small number of Zerphi's Hearts per league.

The main way to get it is from the divination card The Life Thief, which I believe drops (very rarely) in the Crimson Temple map. However, it can also drop from stacked decks and from league mechanics that drop jewellery rewards, such as Heist jewellery chests. Fair warning - the card is probably about as rare as The Doctor is.

This has long been one of my favorite unique items in the game. It's also often pretty accessible in a trade league, as it tends not to quite make it into many minmaxxed build setups.
