There's this new tool called Adobe Podcast that's supposed to be able to enhance voice recordings. Since the voice overs in GSTE and GDAMM are encoded at only 11025Hz (aside from the "you lose" and "monsters fight" lines from GDAMM which are 22050Hz for some reason), I thought I'd try the tool out on the announcer lines from both games. The results are... interesting.

Fun fact: Pipeworks seemingly did not record "versus" and "game over" lines with the Save the Earth announcer, so they reused the same recordings from Destroy All Monsters Melee. Similarly, Pipeworks seems to have reused the first half of Godzilla 90's intro line for Godzilla 2000 and tacked on a recording of someone else saying "2000" onto the end of it. It's possible that the excessive amount of reverb/echo effects applied to it was an attempt to hide the fact that it's two different people saying the line. It's interesting that they only recorded a line for Godzilla 90's and not Godzilla 2000 considering how the latter is considered the "main" Godzilla for all three games in the trilogy. Perhaps Godzilla 2000 was originally just called "Godzilla" and they decided to rename him after they already had all of the intro lines recorded.
