Abstract: This talk highlights an active learning approach to teaching differential equations through modeling activities, visual aids, and collaborative projects related to real-world applications. The instructor will share how these methods were integrated to enhance student engagement, deepen conceptual understanding, and demonstrate the relevance of differential equations in practical contexts. A student co-presenter will offer insights into the learning experience, reflecting on how these techniques shaped their comprehension, motivation, ability to connect theory with applications, and overall learning experience. This dual-perspective talk aims to provide insights and practical strategies for implementing these methods in mathematics courses, while also addressing the benefits and challenges encountered in the process, as well as potential improvements.
