Enjoy Heather S.'s review of Rugrats. Rugrats is back and better than ever! After eighteen years, the Pickles gang has returned with excellent adventures and their own brand of comedy that fans of the original and new viewers will love.

Rugrats follows Tommy Pickles (E.G. Daily), his cousin Angelica (Cheryl Chase), and his other friends as they get into all kinds of mischief. This tiny crew views the world from an infant’s perspective, which is funny as well as eye opening.

While all the characters return from its original run in 1991, the show has evolved with the times. The animation is now in 3D, instead of its original 2D style. Even though the style has changed, the design of the characters is still the same. The only fault about this new take on the Rugrats is that the mouths don’t move with the voices—it might throw viewers off because the animation and sound are not in sync. The feel of the show brings back the original—the writing of the characters and the voice acting in particular all make it feel as though the Rugrats babies never left.

In the series, the Rugrats learn to never give up, to be kind and to take risks. Susie learns to trust her instincts, and Chuckie disobeys Angelica just to be kind to a potted plant.

I give Rugrats 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 5 to 12, plus older fans. It begins streaming on Paramount+ May 27, 2022.
