While wireless probe thermometers aren't anything new, iGrill joins probe cooking with an iOS app. The iGrill from iDevices captured our imagination when we first heard about it late last year and then got a chance to check it out at CES. Essentially it is a wireless probe thermometer that connects to an iOS device via Bluetooth. The app takes the place of a conventional receiver, but provides more than just temperature data. The app also offers an ETA cooking time and other cooking information such as recipes and tips. The app also provides pre-set alarms for typical cooking temperatures and also a timer.
The iGrill works up to 200 feet and also can work as a stand-alone thermometer. The device itself can be preset to beep without any iOS device needed. The iGrill also supports a second optional probe thermometer.
The iGrill is available now and comes in black or white (pictured) models. It has a list price of $99.99.
