Hey Retro Community! Hope everyone is safe and healthy! Today's video goes over the process of building a "retro" computer. I'm using the term retro loosely here as it's not quite as "retro" as some may expect, but I still feel the term applies.

Those of you who have built a computer more recently may notice that the build process for this system is very similar to modern computers. This is because for the most part components haven't really changed much in overall design. Sure, they're faster, use different ports/slots/sockets, but the ATX standard is still around. AMD still uses pins on most of their CPU's. Slots, no matter the specs, are still slots. Even power supplies haven't changed much.

I do hope to one day build an even more retro system (think 386/486), and that should definitely show a difference in the process.

This is part 1 of at least a 2 part-er, though most likely it will be 3. This first part goes over the build process itself, along with my usual ramblings and musings. Part 2 will follow in the near future and will focus on installing various operating systems and if need be, so will part 3.
