Episode #22 - ATV: Quad Power Racing [PS1] **OLD REVIEW**
2The track designs, on paper, are well-designed. There are racing games with worse soundtracks. The developers attempted to code realistic physics for ATV handling. The game is super inexpensive to purchase. That's essentially the end of the list of positives. Now, the negatives:
- poor frame rate
- laggy and loose controls
- short viewing distance, especially problematic because of control issues
- AI that fails to respond to the player racer in any way
- highly pixelated graphics and poorly constructed attempts at 3d-looking objects (intersecting sprites approach)
- everything else
It's a late PS1 bargain release that plays very much like a late PS1 bargain release. Perhaps there's something here for the most hardcore ATV rider who wants a PS1-specific ATV experience, but even then I couldn't recommend this.
