Eternights | Full Game Walkthrough | No Commentary
It's time for another indie game to archive and today we are looking at Eternights. The game is from a Korean development studio and was made by less than 5 people. But despite a small team, the game is actually quite ambitious and offers a lot more than meets the eye.
We play as a teen who is not that lucky when it comes to love. But fate would have it that a catastrophe occurs and that puts us on a mission to save the world alongside others of our age. That means we have to go through various dungeons in order to beat the bosses while also working on our social links and possibly dating someone.
It is easy to make the comparison with Persona since you also work on your social links there and go through dungeons, but Eternights does have a different taste. Most notably the combat is real time and quite satisfying to do. Combos are nice, fast paced and you can even use special skills and spells from your team mates. It felt a bit like Dark Souls for beginners.
In between the dungeons the dialogue options that you get to choose when interacting with the crew are often quite hilarious. There are some simple but fun minigames you can do and overall I had a great time with this. I do wish that esthetically the dungeons looks a bit different since the game has a blue/red look to it all throughout. The ending was also surprisingly touching and I cannot wait to see what these talented developers will do in the future with a bigger budget.
