We now face a Lagaardian Stratum Boss, and true to form, she takes after her EO2U incarnation, which means heavy scripting. Let’s begin.
Turn 1 is always Bloodbath; Shrill Cry is always used after Bloodbath.
– Bloodbath is on a 3-Turn timer; it takes priority over Harpuia’s other skills, so you can’t skip it. Disabling Harpuia’s ability to cast Bloodbath will push it back by 1 Turn.
Chaos Scream has a listed Action Speed Modifier, but it presumably doesn’t mean anything, as this Skill is only used as an out-of-turn action three times throughout the fight. Harpuia will use this at the end of the turn upon falling beneath the following HP Thresholds: 75%, 50%, and 25%.
*Phase 1 (100% - 76%):* [Claws of Despair – Basic Attack]
*Phase 2 (75% - 51%):* Semi-random selection between Storm Feather, Claws of Despair, and her Basic Attack.
– 40% chance to use Storm Feather; Basic Attacks always queue Claws of Despair
*Phase 3 (50% - 26%):* Semi-random selection between Feast, Claws of Despair, Storm Feather, and her Basic Attack.
– Basic Attack queues Claws of Despair; Claws of Despair queues Feast
*Phase 4 (25% - Death):* Random selection between Storm Feather (30%), Claws of Despair (30%), Feast (30%), and Shrill Cry (10%).
This boss is quite simple, but Paralysis from Claws of Despair can easily ruin a setup if the wrong units get shutdown.
– Protector is…a busted unit, capable of face-tanking the boosted version of Bloodbath even if suffering from Full Paralysis.
– Survivalists, assuming you are on-level with Harpuia at 40, now have access to Scapegoat, which can be used to forcibly redirect Harpuia’s party-wide options as well as the multi-hit options that can usually only strike a target once.
– Sovereigns with Rally Order can bolster the party enough to just face-tank the incoming damage as well.
Her Conditional Drop turns into the Cradle Edge, but unlike its EOV counterpart, it doesn’t give you Explosion. This one gives you access to Feast. Would have preferred Bloodbath, but beggars can’t be choosers.
