Alright. It's been a while, but hey, it's time to finally tackle the Stratum 3 final boss Scylla.

My strategy is to use a fast attack on Alva to beat the speed of the tentacles coupled with Melis' Link Order II with Turning Tide to mitigate most of the turns I would have to otherwise spend healing. Basic buffs : Protect, Guard, Attack orders.

Scylla has the interesting mechanic of Tentacles, which deal a good amount of bash damage but also use Tentacle Creep on her Cry Soul turn, which stuns and may leg bind, causing that character to be hit by the very inaccurate, but high hitting Cry Soul.

Scylla's skills are very predictable, and the cycle that I am able to take advantage of is her Ice Shave - Six Sins - Piercing Shell - Ice Shave - Lullaby - Cry Soul.

Alva's Fire Palm has a high activation speed, which I can use to get a very fast Link Order II out. The thing is, Link Order II on its own is not sufficient to kill a tentacle in one hit, but leaving them at critical. This can actually be used positively, as I can kill one and leave the rest at very low health to be wiped out the turn of Lullaby. If I use Fire Palm/Link Order II to wipe, it means Attack Bait gains Fire Element for Cry Soul the turn after, which is a significant damage boost.

Six Sins is scary, though the party speed is high enough to Therica B without worrying about it, which is why I am now level 55, as I was not fast enough at level 50. Ice Shave is effectively negated by Protect Order, and most of the damage from the Tentacles can be healed through Turning Tide, leaving Piercing Shell. This turn is particularly bad if tentacles are alive and the attack hits the same target twice. A bit sketchy, but revival isn't too bad as the following turn is Ice Shave, so recovery isn't out of the question.

What can be problematic, however is the fact that Horse Bao's Sleep reducing effects, unlike the Leg Charms do not null sleep, meaning I still have to worry about getting hit by Lullaby, and with a long-ish fight, RNG could screw me over. Another thing is I was particularly lucky with avoiding the stun from Tentacle Creep, letting Alva get in some extra damage with those Attack Bait hits. This leaves the ailments of Paralysis, Blind and Panic left from Six Sins, but the interesting thing is Link Order I and Link Order II are 100% accurate as long as the attack it links from makes contact, so Cry Soul aside, I can leave blind alone if Melis is afflicted.

In the end it boils down to Ice Shave - Buff - Six Sins - Palm/Link Order II or buff and Damage - Piercing Shell - Palm/Link Order II or Therica B - Ice Shave - Palm/Link Order II or Fire Palm/Fire Formula to set up wipe - Lullaby- Palm/Link Order II, pray for wipe - Cry Soul - Attack Order + Damage

The above turn order is more or less a very 'safe' fight, though Six Sins and Lullaby are pretty unstable, and those ailments could potentially break the cycle, thus the longer the fight the less likely things are to go my way.

I did use a similar strategy previously, but with Flame Breath on Alva, which could not outspeed the tentacles, leading to issues. I never expected Scylla to be harder than Esbat on this run, but wow this was fairly challenging. But we've broken the wall and unlocked the ability to farm Amritas. Yay Amrita stocking!
