Etrian Odyssey Untold II Duo Sovereign [Arachne]
2Arachne was a whole lot of fun. Between the marsh and the venomous bite, healing/regen is a must in this encounter.
This fight actually escalates, the marsh slowly deals more damage up to 52 to my setup I believe. The upside is after venomous bite, I have a free turn to buff or DPS.
I put Bloodlust on Melis because I did not need Beast Roar or Sapping Curse to reduce damage, as evasion and Defend is enough to take the hard hitting move rather safely. Interestingly, despite the marsh dealing damage after all other sources, it can still proc bloodlust, which is great for getting in some free damage.
Arachne has an AoE bind and a single target, Silk Spit seeming to have a slightly lower accuracy modifier but a much higher bind rate. As Protect Order is good enough healing for the first half of the fight, a turn spent using a Therica A isn't too bad.
Stinger is introduced later, which deals moderate damage and can stun. Not usually problematic since orders are very fast and will outspeed the boss.
I opted for Venom Rings against Venomous Bite as Chain Dance is too risky after the marsh scales up, forcing me to defend, and Prevent Order would require another Melis turn as well as take up a buff slot for emergency Guard Order strats.
Damage was pretty consistent, using Alva's Double Attack/Fencer with Staff Mastery and a Fire Element staff helped reduce TP usage immensely, but in the end I did not need all that much TP anyway.
Well, that's it for the easier bosses. Stratum 3 will be a challenge. Wish me luck.
