Eugenio Suarez Trade Breakdown
2In December of 2014, the Detroit Tigers were busy. First, they traded away Rick Porcello. This trade left them with a hole in the starting rotation. As a result, they targeted 2014 All Star pitcher Alfredo Simon. Cincinnati was not going to give him away for free, so they got two players in return. One of them was infielder Eugenio Suarez.

After a bad season in 2021, the Reds decided to embrace a complete rebuild. While Suarez was a strong power bat, they did not want to have his salary on the books. They decided to trade him, along with Jesse Winker, to Seattle. In the future, we will look at this trade.
