Everspace (PS4) 9 - Ancients
0Everspace is a run-based space sim with randomized levels. You accumulate resources, some used for crafting and repairs during a run, others used for permanently enhancing your pilot and ship. The progression is satisfying, and the game becomes more fun as you venture further and further into space. Everspace has a story that makes sense out of the structure of the game. It is slowly told through cutscenes, triggered when you proceed further than you have before, and through logs from crashed ships.
I find all layouts of the PS4 controls frustrating, as the 'boost' function that I use all the time is assigned to holding down L3. I have remapped my controls using the 'Customize Button Assignments' menu in the PS4 accessibility settings.
