1The hit golf movie Happy Gilmore had several brilliant and hilarious characters, but some of them have appeared in more than one Adam Sandler movie. The comically funny film followed the journey of the titular character, played by Sandler, as he attempted to win enough money through playing golf tournaments to buy back his Grandma's (Frances Bay) house from the IRS. There were also plenty of celebrity and golf cameos in Happy Gilmore, which were great, especially as the only professional main character was Shooter McGavin (Christopher McDonald), Happy's rival.
Adam Sandler has confirmed Happy Gilmore 2, a first for the writer and director, who had famously avoided making sequels in the past. Although not all of his titles were particularly strong, Happy Gilmore was a stand-out in the collection of Adam Sandler's best movies, mainly because of the film's characters. Characters from Sandler's movies and their respective actors have often made cameos in his other titles, and Happy Gilmore was no different.
Happy Gilmore featured some hysterical moments from Happy's mentor, Derick "Chubbs" Peterson (Carl Weathers). Although Chubbs was quite blunt, he had a lot of patience for Happy as he could see his true potential as a golf player, genuinely wanting to help him. Chubbs' best scene was when he took Happy to play crazy golf in preparation for a tournament. Although Happy got frustrated by the juvenile situation, it also proved that Chubbs was very wise, and playing up Happy's anger issues could also help him to try and get it under control.
