The Flagpole aka Goal Pole aka Goal Post appears in many of the main Mario 2D games and some 3D games which is always at the end of the level. It appeared in the originall Super Mario Bros all the way to Super Mario Run. As years went by, ever character has their own unique animation after completing a level. If you hit the top of the flagpole, you will obtain a life and if enemies are near by will also benefit you. Watch how the Flagpole has evoloved over the years in this video!
