Gaming difficulty has changed a lot since the early days. If we travel back to the Super Nintendo days, there was no such thing as a tutorial or "difficulty settings." You had to rely on your wits and a lot of trial and error. With games like Donkey Kong Country, Battletoads and Star Fox you had to get good.

Fast forward to today and most games have multiple levels of difficulty from Easy to Nightmare mode. They also spend several levels training you on how to play the game. Systems are way more complicated now than ever before but we ask the question, do games hold our hand too much?
